CHRONIC PAIN Chronic pain causes millions to suffer but how much of that suffering is necessary? Can hypnosis be used to give people relief from chronic pain? The answer is yes! Hyopnosis and hypnotherapy have long been known as effective pain management srategies. Hypnosis is a viable alternative to drug or surgical chronic pain treatments. Temporary relief can often be experienced through direct suggestions for symptom relief. More permanent relief can sometimes be brought about by resolving emotional or psychological issues connected to the situation. The unconscious mind uses pain to teach you. The pain is a message that you need to learn something in order to avoid a particular situation. Until your unconscious feels that it has learned how to avoid that type of situation (even if it wasn’t your fault to begin with) it will keep serving up the pain. Once you understand how to protect yourself better, the message has been delivered and that pain can stop. In many situations caused by accidents or diseases this can result is up to an 80% permanent reduction in pain! As a side-effect these techniques sometimes result is a diminishment of connected symptoms. We use specialized techniques designed to get your unconscious the learning it needs and instruct your mind to let go of the pain that is no longer necessary. Very few people (including hypnotherapists) Know these techniques. For the remainder of your pain and other symptoms, we’ll teach you self-hypnosis. After learning self-hypnosis, many people can learn to alleviate or reduce pain on their own-helping to give back more of a sense of control to their lives (and saving money on expensive drugs and visits to the doctor). We’ll leave you with a quote about the power of self-hypnosis. “Strong evidence for the use of hypnosis in alleviating cancer pain was found by a scientific panel convened by the National Institutes of Health. In one 10-year followup of 86 cancer patients, those who recieved self-hypnosis training along withgroup therapy had 50% less pain and survived a year and a hlf longer than those who had routine medical care. CHRONIC DISEASES : Chronic diseases and chronic conditions are often not responsive to western medicine. When you think about it, it makes sense. All diseases, conditions and even accidents have some mental, emotional and psychological components. Though they may or may not be appropriate for symptom treatment, drugs or surgery are simply not the best choice for resolving mental, emotional and psychological needs (with rare exceptions). Now, we’re not saying”It’s all in your mind.” We’re saying that whatever portion of your situation is due to mental factors will likely not be solved by drugs or surgery. As far as relief from symptoms, hypnosis can provide some answers. Hypnosis can help you to gain control over things like pain, swelling, blood flow and rate of healing-and the side effects are a sense of well-being, calmness and relaxation. No treatment method can guarantee a complete cure but all-to-often we’ve seen people get results with hypnosis after multiple surgeries or years of ingesting drugs. Perhaps for many of these people we can provide relief with other methods. If your physician recommends drugs or surgery, ask if you have time to try something else first. If you’ve seen a physician, perhaps you should consider hypnosis as a valuable non-drug, non-surgical treatment to add to your options. It makes sense to try it first, with supervision of your doctor. Please feel free to GO TO-

Fibromyalgia (FMS) is a frustrating and seldom

understood illness. It is a collection of confusing and

often contradictory symptoms which come and go and

vary in intensity. It’s chief characteristic is widespread

pain in the muscles, ligaments and tendons. It is also

characterized by stiffness, fatigue and non-restorative

sleep. While it is not life threatening, it is life changing. It

can be as debilitating as rheumatoid arthritis. 25% of all

FMS sufferers become disabled and 36% of all social

security disability payments currently go for fibromyalgia.

It is a chronic illness with a hefty price tag. It accounts for

10% of all visits to physicians. Yet, there are no effective

conventional medical treatments for this chronic illness.
FMS is particularly frustrating because the sufferer

appears healthy and normal on the outside but feels

miserable on the inside. Eight times more women are

affected than men. It strikes all races, all ages, all socio-

economic levels and all educational levels. It is often

found in the company of other related illnesses such as

irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), spastic bladder (urinary

urge incontinence), chronic fatigue, headaches,

migraines, allergies, myofascial pain syndrome, mitral

valve prolapse and more.
Traditional treatments aim at improving the quality of

sleep and reducing pain using a cocktail of medications.

Unfortunately, the side effects of the medications can be

as debilitating as the illness. Recent research confirms

that a multi-disciplinary approach which includes

cognitative behavioral therapies, such as hypnosis,

provides the greatest relief from symptoms and the best

prognosis for a return to more normal levels of

functioning. This approach includes improving the quality

of sleep, proper nutrition, physical conditioning and deep

relaxation combined with positive mental imagery

(techniques used in hypnotherapy). By combining

therapies, the patient can frequently return to a healthier

state and a more active lifestyle while lessening or, in

some instances, eliminating the need for medications,

especially pain medications. My clients have averaged a

46% reduction in pain medication usage.

In a study published in the Journal of Rheumatology, 40

refractory fibromyalgia patients (FMS patients who had

failed to relieve their symptoms with traditional medical

treatments) were randomly assigned to treatment with

either hypnotherapy or physical therapy. The patients in

the hypnotherapy group showed significantly better

outcomes with respect to pain reduction, fatigue on

awakening, sleep patterns and global assessments. In

addition, those patients who received hypnotherapy

showed a significant improvement in their overall levels of

discomfort and were able to reduce their levels of pain

medications. The authors concluded that hypnotherapy

was effective in relieving the symptoms of Fibromyalgia.
This and similar studies corroborate what we have found

at Alabama Hypnotherapy Center. We have been using

and teaching hypnotherapy for the relief of FMS

symptoms for over four years. Over 96% of FMS patients

have shown significant and lasting improvement in their

overall symptoms, especially in the areas of pain

reduction, improved sleep patterns and increased energy

levels. In addition, they have been able to reduce or

eliminate their pain medication levels between 30% and

100% (Average of 46%). All clients have been able to

significantly increase their levels of daily functioning.

Even more importantly, they have been able to maintain

these improvements even after their hypnotherapy

sessions end.

hypnotherapy can help you alleviate symptoms and

IBS Hypnosis Can Help !!!!!

Diagnosed with IBS (Irritable Bowel Syndrome), and getting no relief from traditional medical treatment. Turn to alternative methods, such as Hypnosis. IBS is a disturbance of the colon where patients present with long-standing symptoms of crampy abdominal pain, bloating, excessive flatulence, diarrhea, constipation, or alternating diarrhea and constipation. It accounts for about half of all the visits to gastroenterologists and affects approximately 10% of the population. Stress is involved and the symptoms of IBS also cause stress because they are very uncomfortable and inconvenient. Stress probably makes it worse and the symptoms of the disease make the stress worse making it a never ending cycle.
Summary of Presentation:
Hypnotherapy for the treatment of IBS therapy is very nonspecific as it manifests differently in different people. This presentation is only intended as a guide because the therapist must develop individualized treatment.
CASE HISTORY: It is absolutely essential to take a detailed case history even though the referring specialist has made the diagnosis of IBS.
The following should be determined:
1. When symptoms first appeared,
2. What makes the situation better or worse,
3. How severe is the pain (on a scale of 1-10,1 no pain, 10 most severe pain).
4. What does it stop the patient from doing
5. What steps have been taken in he past to solve the problem.
6. Medication
7. Establish the patient’s recreational interests (do they still experience IBS in recreational situations?).
8. Does the patient suffer from lack of confidence
9. Are there any other complicating symptoms
10. Family history
For doing this the therapist should consider what techniques might be applicable for the patients own personal needs.
1. Is the pain a problem? (Utilize glove anesthesia protocol)
2. Is the patient afraid to go out? (Has the patient lost bowel control in public?)
3. Is the patient sleeping well? (good indication of anxiety level)
4. Is there any warning (prodrome) to attacks? (find what triggers attack and intercept it) Multimodel approach to treatment
1. Patient’s “homework”, Self-hypnosis, green count
2. Analysis I Dissociation
3. Re-framing the anxiety and the behavior problem
4. Direct suggestion
5. EGO strengthening
6. Consider ways of making the patient feel good about themselves
7. Consider the need for “healing white light” script
When improvement has been noted it is always useful to use pseudo orientation in time to prepare the patient for discharge. Ego strengthening should be “client driven” especially following improvement and a fractionation technique should be employed to make best possible use of the improvement already gained.

Now let us think about thought. Any action happens only after the thought has been thunked. You think about something then your mind makes a plan on how to put the thought into action. So if we think about something for long enough the mind will put it into action. There is only one catch to this whole thing becoming a reality. You have to believe in your thought. You have to believe you can accomplish your thought. If you think you can create $10,000 more dollars a month income and truly believe it , then it will happen. Just do not put any time limits on it. When we believe, we know it will happen we just do not know when it will happen. Learn how to accelerate your plans GO TO /almostasecret.php?id=sdssks09
